OK, I will get straight to it. Let us talk about erectile dysfunction (or ED as it is also known). You know, where you struggle to get, or maintain an erection. Where Pele comes and does an advert about it, and then goes “get help, I would”, just to remind us he has no problems down there.

It is an issue that effects more of us than you would think. About 5% of men who are 40 and above, and 15% who are 70 have full erectile dysfunction. Mild and moderate ED accounts for 50% of men in their 50’s, and 60% in their 60’s.

We need to stop being worried about it. So many people suffer in silence, and whist they do that, they are doing nothing to fix it.

However, we are here to help. Although our advice should never take the place of doctor, here are six tips to either prevent, or recover from ED. We hope it is useful for you.

Here goes.

1) Lose Weight

Let us be honest with ourselves, many of us are in the overweight bracket. If that is the case, it is putting your cardiovascular system under strain. So word up, lose some weight.

2) Quit Smoking

Having never been a smoker, I wouldn’t know, but I hear it is hard, but it is something you need to do. This is because the science boys say that it affects the neuro-signals that normally allow the correct blood flow to the penis.

So, start that journey today! You will find many other health benefits also.

3) Avoid Alcohol

Now, it has to be said, I like to have a drink. However, if you do it too much, then it isn’t good and ED could be the result.

Restrict yourself to no more than two drinks a week.
And on those nights, don’t go mental. If you behave, that is one possible factor for your erectile dysfunction gone.

4) Maintain a Balanced Diet

No-one is asking you to live like a monk, but your body is like a car. If you fill it full of crap, it won’t run properly. Therefore if you maintain a good mix of foods, then you engine will be ready to run.

5) Be Physically Active

This is a big one. Just 30 minutes exercise a day can improve your blood flow, and reduce your stress levels. It is a well known fact that couch potatoes suffer from ED more than active people, so find an exercise that you enjoy, and do it.

6) Reduce Stress Levels and Get Sleep

Whilst we are on stress, this is a major factor that can cause erectile dysfunction. You need to find a way to reduce your stress levels. If that is reading a book, do it; if it is watching crap TV, do it. It is up to you.

Also, try and get seven hours sleep a night. If you are frazzled, the chances of ED striking increase.

In Closing

Well, do you recognise any of those issues? If you do, you at least know where to start. Definitely make an appointment at your doctors. There could be an underlying reason for your ED, and you won’t work that out reading our blog.

If you are suffering with erectile dysfunction, then good luck in fixing it. It sucks, but it is treatable.
